When I was sick with the flu, Lou and Tiger-lily gave me cuddles to help me feel better. Animals are the best!
Yes this is what happens when Lou goes crazy and decides he wants to jump on and play with the cat. As you can image Tiger-lily who is ten does not appreciate this behaviour, and hisses and swipes at him. This sends Lucifer into a crazy barking maniac, and he is put outside.
Usually there is some barking and hissing exchanged through the glass, but after a minute or two Lou goes into sulking mode. He will sitting staring at the cat with his bring brown eyes pleading to get let back in.
The funny thing is the cat is the only one of us he’ll listen to. She is his favourite. Tiger still remembers our old quiet beagle who was her best friend, so hasn’t fully adjusted to a crazy young beagle. She loves Lou even when he goes crazy, she just doesn’t trust him yet. And who could blame her.
This is Lou’s first coat. As it is winter and he had been snuggling up to us trying to get warm we thought, its worth a try seeing if he would wear a coat.
To start with he seemed to enjoy it, but I think it was because he was distracted trying to get my mums food. About 15mins into wearing it, he took himself into the lounge room where he tried to wrestle his way out. He was rolling around, biting and chewing at it. Doing anything to pull it off so he could chew it to pieces.
So now the coat is put away till he is a little older and we are getting lots of cuddles and of course kisses.
So would you like a new way to sit on your leather couch then Lou will show you how.
First don’t sit the boring old way, with your bum on the seat. No avoid that all together and climb onto the top of the seat back.
That’s perfect. Now spread your legs on either side of the seat back and lie on your stomach.
Now you are in the perfect position to bark at anything outside the window, or just chew away at those wooden blinds.
As recommended by Lou the beagle
This is how Lou likes to help me with my work. Seconds later this
So very helpful. Does anybody else have such a helpful beagle ?

No, I’m not a crazy cat lady. I love dogs. I always wanted and had dogs growing up and was severely allergic to cats. When I went off to college, my mom even felt horrible every time I went to visit because I would have a horrible reaction and would be miserable my entire stay. One day however, I was at my best friends house and she had a cat. I was nervous about my first visit to her place. After a few hours, I found myself NOT sneezing and itching and scratching my eyes. I remembered hearing once that you can grow in and out of allergies every 7 or so years, but I never put much thought into it. Had I beaten my cat allergy? 5 years later I adopted a cat I found outside my best friends apartment. My little stray I called Shadow….I loved that dam* cat
About 2 years ago I lost Shadow, and never realized until that moment how precious a pet can be. It may sound insane or a little wacko to some people, but anyone that has ever loved and lost an animal knows what I’m talking about. You can’t really put into words what a pet can mean to someone. It’s your companion. Your friend. It loves you unconditionally. Needs you. Misses you. Makes you laugh. Makes you angry when they misbehave….. and eventually will make you cry…. It’s just an animal….I know….I get it. But YOUR pet is still somehow priceless …
My co-worker gave me a kitten from her cat’s litter about 3 months after the tragedy of Shadow and I felt like it was too soon. As if I was betraying Shadow. Like he could so easily be replaced?? Ha! Please (sarcastic tone)….
